Take Fibro down by taking up Aqua Fitness!

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to the Dance4Fitness Studios in Claremont to partake in an Aqua Zumba/Combat class with the lovely instructor Xan. As most of you remember, I also tried out the Yoga class with Karen (which you can read all about here!) and had an absolute blast.
As we all know, working out in water is super effective as it has 12-14 times more toning potential than working out on land (because of the resistance), now, because I also suffer with Fibromyalgia, I was more than keen to try out the class because water is not as harsh as land (and all of us with Fibro KNOW how hard it is to keep our bodies looking good and toned)
Xan, my instructor was super enthusiastic about the class and kept me motivated through the entire hour! working out has seriously never been so much fun (or painless). With a mix of fast paced hip hop and pop music blasting through the speakers, I couldn't have stopped shimmying away in the water even if I tried!
And to make things even more motivating, you know that the instructors are not just some lame people who pretend to know about fitness. Take Xan for example, she has been involved in the industry since 1995!
"I Started teaching in 2001 specializing in Kids fitness and Group fitness as I realized that teaching gave much more gratification than doing the sport. Having worked at various institutions in JHB and Cape Town. The great thing about teaching is imparting knowledge and knowing you make a difference in the individuals road to fitness, health and wellness. I try to make sure my classes are not only fun and energy filled but also allow people at various level options to challenge themselves. No workout is the same. At the end of the day, its a mind change. People don't really realise that they're working out if they're having fun and constantly moving, allowing people to learn about their body and their limits." says Xan.
Splashing, stretching, shouting, laughing, twisting, hooting and even hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba Class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, this class blends it all together with in a safe, challenging workout that's cardio conditioning, body-toning and super exhilarating leaving you refreshed and amped to take over the world!
Aqua Combat on the other hand is just as invigorating class which provides your body with a great way to maintain stamina, strength and suppleness and improve cardiovascular fitness. It is also a brilliant workout tot reduce stress levels as the water ebbs and flows to massage your muscles as you move.
I would honestly recommend this class for any of you who are suffering with some sort of pain or muscular disorder as for the first time after an intense workout, I never felt pain! (as i mentioned before)
Bottom line... I can assure you that you will NOT be disappointed
